The AJC Seattle Jewish Film Festival is the largest and most highly anticipated Jewish event in the Pacific Northwest and a mainstay of our region's arts and entertainment calendar seeks a part-time team-oriented intern to prepare for our 17th annual festival, taking place March 15-25, 2011. This is a six-month position requiring a commitment of 20 hours a week (schedule negotiable). Prior background in film, festivals, community and event planning a plus. Prior non-profit or Jewish organizations is not required, but encouraged. Knowledge of Jewish culture and Hebrew language helpful. Candidates must have strong communication, organizational, computer, research skills, be self-motivated, work well under pressure and enjoy working with the public. As an intern you will de facto become a member of the AJC staff and Seattle Jewish Film Festival team and be responsible for a host of ongoing administrative and substantive duties, and, depending on skill set, dedicated projects, such as film curation and special event planning. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a must. Familiarity with Constant Contact, Adobe Photoshop and iMovie a bonus.

Detailed Job Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with daily office administrative tasks
- Processing DVD film submissions, duplication, land labeling for committee checkout and previewing
- Regularly updating film log,
- Administrative management of online Withoutabox film submissions, as well as communications and coordination with filmmakers, as needed
- Contact, track and follow-up with film screener requests
- Short film research
- Assisting with drafting monthly e-blast and ppt presentations
- Drafting letters and editing communications
- Print trafficking
- Assist with coordinating guest artist travel logistics
- Be available the week of the festival (dates) to help with venue management and volunteer coordination
- Compile festival PR materials, such as press clippings, releases and film PR
- Maintain SJFF film library and press archives
- Organize SJFF photo galleries and archives
- Database input and maintenance
- Assist with FILMTalks, SJFF's daylong diversity-training tolerance-building workshop for high school students
- Assisting staff during Festival
- Other responsibilities and projects will be added based on the intern's skill and initiative.
The AJC Seattle Jewish Film Festival seeks a part-time (min. 10 hrs/week) energetic and media savvy high school or college student to assist the Festival staff and PR/Communications Subcommittee and help develop, administer, implement and update the festival's multi-pronged social media, PR, outreach and communications efforts, using the following social media tools:
- Facebook
- Twitter
- Website PR and software tools
- E-mail Blasts (Constant Contact)
- YouTube channel
- Dropbox and Google Docs
- PowerPoint for on-screen projection
- Online ticket outlets
- Discount ticket outlets: i.e, Groupon, Living Social, Gilt City
- Other duties: Maintain and Follow Press and Blogger Contacts.
