A satisfying mix of sheer entertainment and bittersweet commentary, The Galilee Eskimos follows the misadventures of a band of senior citizens as they fight to save their debt-ridden kibbutz. One morning, the elders awake to find they have been abandoned by the younger generation. Forced to fend for themselves and fend off bailiffs and developers hoping to demolish the bankrupt kibbutz and erect a casino resort, the old-timers organize to rebuild a society betrayed by their progeny. Director Jonathan Paz - whose parents were kibbutzniks - creates a loving swan-song for the kibbutz ideal while celebrating how the disempowered find the power to determine their fate.
