
As Israel prepares to withdraw from Southern Lebanon in 2000, Israeli Defense Force soldiers guard an outpost next to Beaufort Castle, a Crusader fortress. The first Israeli film to explore the painful subject of an 18-year war with Lebanon. Director Joseph Cedar (Time of Favor, Campfire) won the coveted Silver Bear Award for Best Director at the 2007 Berlinale, and it is an Oscar contender for Best Foreign Film.
