Mysterious Romanian Holocaust survivor Yankele Bride (in an Ophir-winning performance by comic Adir Miller) makes ends meet in 1968 Haifa by brokering marriages. His 16-year-old protege Arik begins to learn the mysteries of the human heart as he meets a variety of quirky characters, vagabonds, smugglers, and other misfits. Director Avi Nesher (TURN LEFT AT THE END OF THE WORLD, THE SECRETS) adapts this story of a young man and a young nation coming of age from the novel "When Heroes Fly" by award-winning writer Amir Gutfreund. Nominated for seven Israeli Ophir Awards, including Best Picture.
