About the Film:

Award-winning festival favorite Eran Riklis (SYRIAN BRIDE, SJFF 2006; LEMON TREE, SJFF 2008; HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER, SJFF 2011; A BORROWED IDENTITY, SJFF 2015) returns with this suspenseful, neo-noir show-stopper. One-time top Mossad agent Naomi is dispatched to Germany by her commander (Lior Ashkenazi) to protect a Lebanese collaborator recovering from facial reconstruction surgery that will protect her identity. Over the course of two weeks in the Hamburg safe house, an uneasy relationship between the two women develops into an unexpected bond over personal tragedies, while the threat levels rise outside. Part espionage novel, part psychological thriller, SHELTER takes you in.

Nominated for two Ophir Awards, including Best Actress (Neta Riskin) and Best Music by the director’s son, Jonathan Riklis, a jazz musician, who also composed, arranged and produced the original score for “A Borrowed Identity.”
