About The FilmForbidden romance buds between a Jewish girl and a young Christian resistance fighter in 1943 Thessaloniki (a.k.a Salonika or Salonica, Greece). Set against the suspenseful backdrop of German occupation, this beautifully rendered film adapted from a novel about love, the brutality of war, and painful decisions is made even more poignant by a soundtrack of enchanting Ladino classics and the wistful rebetika songs of the famous Greek composer Vassilis Tsitsanis. CLOUDY SUNDAY harkens to the days of old Thessaloniki and its thriving Sephardic Jewish culture and music scene. Special Event: Post-film Sephardic coffee klatsch (echar lashon) with coffee/tea and biscochos. Included in ticket price. Guest Speaker
