About The FilmWorld Premiere/Local Story! In 2006, Cheryl Stumbo survived one of the most brutal acts of violence and shocking hate crimes in Seattle history at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle. After three year and over 20 surgeries, Stumbo recovered with a newfound inspiration to advocate for safer gun laws in Washington State. Despite a series of nationally high-profile mass shootings, Stumbo and other gun-safety advocates met fierce resistance to implement gun safety laws - until Initiative 594. Working as the Citizen Sponsor of I-594 to institute mandatory background checks for online gun sales, this historic measure could help save thousands of lives.
