About The Film

Based on the bestseller by Uri Orlev, RUN BOY RUN is the true story of an 8-year-old boy who flees the Warsaw ghetto and learns to survive in the nearby woods. After his family is killed by the Nazis, Srulik is constantly on the run from the Gestapo, and seeks the kindness of farmers and peasants by pretending to be a Christian Polish orphan. For three years, Srulik runs, never losing his courage, his will to survive, or his Jewish identity. Director Bio

Pepe Danquart has worked on more than 30 documentaries. In 1994, his fictional short film SCHWARZFAHRER won an Academy Award^® for Best Live Action Short Film. His other films include NACH SAISON (1997), a trilogy of sports documentaries, and many more. Danquart is a co-founder of the German Film Academy.
