About The Film

A look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict unlike anything you’ve seen before. This fascinating documentary follows the lives of several West Bank residents, three Israelis and three Palestinians, over the course of a year. The subjects—who include an ultra-Orthodox Jewish settler, a young Palestinian protestor, and a small-town mayor—come from a range of backgrounds and ideologies. They may disagree about many things, but they are all passionate believers in the righteousness of their cause.

American director/producer Peter Cohn brings an outsider’s perspective and an unaffiliated lens to this film, and it’s clear he has no agenda. Cohn builds a strong rapport with each of his subjects and documents them all with equal weight and depth. Brimming with candid, thought-provoking interviews, HOLY LAND challenges viewers to see this struggle from different perspectives. Cohn paints a complex, humanizing portrait of the people who live, fight, and sometimes die for they land they consider holy.
