HERE, THERE & EVERYWHERE: No longer a teenager, at 20 years annual, SJFF is all grown up. This year, the festival celebrates our maturity as not only the largest Jewish event in the Pacific Northwest but also as one of the largest and most prominent Jewish film festivals in the country symbolizing how far Jewish and Israeli film has come in the past 20 years. This year, SJFF showcases numerous award-winners: GETT: THE TRIAL OF VIVIAN AMSALEM, a Golden Globe nominee from Israel, two Oscar contenders for Best Foreign Film (GETT and Closing Night’s MR. KAPLAN, Spain/Uruguay/Germany), and two shorts, one a 2014 Academy Award® nominee and the other shortlisted this year (FACING FEAR, Canada, and SUMMER VACATION, Israel) - part of our "GAY GEZUNT!" LGBTQ Film Series.
Across countries, languages and cultures, Jewish film opens a window into new worlds, while confirming our shared stories, cultural connections and common humanity. Join us from start to finish – 32 films from 10 countries in 10 days – encounter the world together and be forever changed.
